Billy Bob Thornton: Daughter Convicted of Aggravated Manslaughter
Amanda Brumfield, 32, was arrested in October 2008 after her best friend’s toddler daughter died of injuries suffered while Thornton’s daughter was babysitting.
Brumfield claimed the child fell out of a playpen to the floor. The Orange County Medical Examiner testified at trial that the 3.5 inch skull fracture and subsequent bleeding of the brain that Olivia Garcia suffered were caused by a significant impact blow that wasn’t consistent with a 28 inch fall.
